What new features are available in New Expensify
Customizable searches and saved searches
Search is much more powerful and customizable in New Expensify. Instead of working with a fixed set of views, you can build and save your own views directly from the Spend tab.
You can:
- Customize what you see. Choose which columns appear in your search results. Learn how to customize the Spend column view.
- Build your own filters. Filter by submitter, approver, category, tag, merchant, dates, status, card, accounting status, and many more. Learn how to use advanced search operators to filter and analyze.
- Save searches you run often. Turn any filtered view into a saved search and reopen it with one click. Learn how to save a search.
- Filter by exports. Use the Exported to filter to find expenses exported during a specific date range or sent to a particular destination, such as an accounting integration or export template. Learn more about accounting search shortcuts.

On mobile, you can create Distance expenses by plotting your start, stop, and waypoints directly on a map instead of manually entering addresses.

What workflows are improved in New Expensify
Pay reports in bulk
Members with permission to pay reports can pay multiple approved reports at once instead of paying them one at a time. Learn how to pay multiple reports in bulk.
Full visibility for approvers
Approvers can see their direct reports’ expense reports in every status — not just the reports currently waiting for approval.
This makes it easier to:
- Review draft reports before submission
- Follow up on outstanding reports
- Track reimbursement progress
- Review historical activity

Cross-platform consistency between web and mobile
Everything you can do on the web you can do on mobile.
This includes:
- Searching expenses and reports
- Filtering spend data
- Viewing other members’ expenses and reports
- Issuing company cards
- Updating Workspace settings
View unassigned company cards
Workspace Admins can view all unassigned cards on a card feed at a glance, making it easier to find and assign cards to the right Workspace members.
Learn how to assign company cards.
Amend the transaction start date on an assigned card at any time
After assigning a company card to a member, you can update the transaction import start date to control which historical transactions are imported into Expensify. This is useful when you need to skip transactions that were already accounted for elsewhere.
Export to custom templates at the expense level
All export templates support exports from both expenses and reports. This means you can export a single expense to any custom template without exporting the full report that contains it.
